About the Author


Linda J. Goldberg was born in Boston and lived there until she was ten. At that time, the family moved to Brookline. After attending Brookline High School, she graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, where she received a B.S. in Math. From both Brookline High and U-Mass came the inspiration for Silent Joy.

She married and moved to Natick, where she brought up two children. She founded the Metro West Writers Workshop at the Morse Institute Library in Natick and led the group for seventeen years.

She has many essays and short stories published in magazines and literary journals. Her first book, Here I Am, is a collection of short stories about growing up in Jewish Boston.

She has four grandsons.
